What is the World Dead Hang Championship?

WDHC is the world's first sanctioned dead hang competition and global leaderboard. Athletes film a continuous hang, submit a video link, and rank worldwide with optional Grip Age scoring. A timer in the video is optional. WDHC can add an official timer after approval.

Grip Age is WDHC's proprietary score that maps dead hang performance to an age-like number using hang time and athlete biometrics. A lower Grip Age generally means stronger relative grip endurance for your chronological age.

How do I submit a dead hang?

Film one continuous shot with full body visible, then paste any shareable video link on worlddeadhang.com/submit. A timer in the video is optional. If you skip it, WDHC adds an official timer after approval. Athletes under 13 may submit with a parent or guardian on the form. Under-13 hangs keep Watch private, and social spotlight stays off.

Is WDHC free to enter?

Yes. The open online board and Athlete Portal are free to use. Monthly challenges and the founding season board do not require a subscription to submit.

Grip Age™ is the age your hang says you are. Lower is better.

How it works

We start with your calendar age, sex, bodyweight, and height, then set the hang we would expect from someone like you.
Your hang is scored against that personal bar, not one cutoff for everyone. Training experience raises the bar.
A longer hang than expected pulls Grip Age younger. A shorter hang pulls it older.
Measured includes a grip-strength (dynamometer) reading. Estimated uses hang time only.

Grip Age™ uses a standard two-arm dead hang only. Weighted, one-arm, and other specialty hangs do not change it. The leaderboard still ranks by hang time.

Submit a hang

One continuous video. Full body in frame. Feet free. Timer is optional. If you skip it, we add an official timer after approval
No straps, gloves, or sticky aids. Chalk is encouraged
Unverified can hang from almost anything. Verified needs a regulation bar (1.25 in / 32 mm) plus bar proof in the same clip
Standard dead hang is selected by default. Most hang types are available. See hang type rules for more information
Public watch is on by default. Uncheck it on submit if you want the hang video private
